Lung cancer risk and survival are heterogeneously distributed among U.S. populations. The tumor-specific biological factors responsible for the population differences are not yet understood. Traditional approaches to address health disparities often fail to capture the complexity of tumor types and leave many gaps unresolved. AI has many advantages compared with traditional strategies for addressing health disparities, notably in its ability to uncover unexpected correlations and relationships that have remained unidentified in analyzing multi-omics cancer data. AI can uncover novel connections that challenge current paradigms, revealing new areas for research and interventions. The Zeeshan Lab works at the intersection of genomic medicine and bioinformatics. We create and apply innovative computational approaches for multi-omics cancer data research and analysis.
