      My research interests include the following: 1) The music of the American composer Charles Ives (1874-1954) 2) Popular music, with specific emphasis on the Beatles 3) Anything related to music theory (my area of specialization and my position at UMKC) 4) Interdisciplinary connections between twentieth-century music and history, particularly in the United States.

      My current research is a qualitative study of Latinas who are leaders in the United States. I am interviewing them about their leadership, resilience, dealing with discrimination, and spirituality. I am also working on several grants assisting Latina/o serving non-profits in Kansas City.
