    Description

This study seeks to extend and analyze a family of models evolved from Goodwin's (1967) Economic Growth Model. We first categorize and analyze the model extensions made previously. Then selected contributions are made commensurate, removing dimensions from the models and running simulations to contrast with previous work and associated results. Several original extensions are then developed and contrasted to the other variations found in the literature. The necessary assumptions ensuring economically sensible solutions are clearly stated. After each extension: equilibrium solutions are derived, the stability conditions are established, and the existence of bifurcations and periodic solutions are examined. The numerical simulations of the extended models suggest irregular growth cycles and bifurcating solutions that have not been observed in the previous models.
